About the Artist

Linda Corson has been doing weaving and fiber arts for over twenty years now. Her first loom, a small table loom, was given to her by her mother-in-law. When she moved with her husband to Missoula, she began weaving lessons and fell in love with the craft.

Linda has since moved near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where she and her husband have started a ranch. They are currently raising American Cream Draft Horses, for more information visit Moyie Valley Ranch. Although ranch life can be all-consuming, she has continued with her weaving and fiber arts. During the last sixteen years that she has lived in Idaho, she has sold her crafts at the local craft fairs. She has also taken part in many Sheep to Shawl events at the local county fair. This process follows the product from its beginning, the sheep's wool, to its finish, the final fringe tying of the shawl.

Linda has learned every step of making fiber arts, shearing sheep, carding the wool, spinning, dying the yarn, and then weaving. The ranch has its own sheep flock, and is developing a spotted Corriedale. The wool from this new mix has both a rich black and white, which Linda is incorporating in her fiber arts and selling.

North Idaho has a new self-guided, driving Artist Studios Tour, which opened last year. Linda was among the first year participants and opened her own studio to the public.
